Our organisational structure and our business

Founded in the 2010, Marika Vera is a global business designing & selling high quality lingerie, harneses, accesories, sleepwear, activewear, loungewear and including Ready to Wear.

Our distribution methods remain the same as in previous years; we sell our products through two main channels; our own shops and website, wholesale both in store and on line. From time to time we also expand our offer through a range of product collaboration projects.

Better than Naked SA de CV  is the ultimate parent company of Marika Vera brand, including Signature by Marika Vera. Our registered office is at Praga 44, Juarez 06600 México City, México.

Our staff

One of Marika Vera's overriding objectives is to conduct all of its business in an honest and ethical manner. We endeavour to maintain a fair and ethical workplace for all of our staff. It is an essential part of this that all forms of forced labour or human trafficking are prohibited and that they have no place in our business.

We have thorough recruitment practices in which we check all our employees’ eligibility to work and we are confident that there is no risk of slavery and human trafficking, corruption, bribery, or  discrimination  within our group.

Our whistleblowing policy invites employees to bring to our attention any illegal or improper behaviour and any breach of the Company's own policies. The whistleblowing policy encourages staff to raise any concerns about our supply chain management without fear of retribution.

Our supply chains

Our methods of engaging with suppliers ensure that we are confident that we remain fully compliant with the law at all times. We do remain constantly vigilant and periodically monitor risks at all levels of the supply chain.

Our product supply chain remains stable and we continue to source our fabrics and components from different suppliers with the majority located in México, Italy, Turkey, Japan, United States, Colombia and China.

At Marika Vera  we are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business and we have zero tolerance to any such practices.

All factories we work with are required to adhere to ethical working practices, which include but are not limited to complying with key principles of ensuring that: employment is freely chosen and that freedom of association and other workers’ rights are respected; the required standards of working conditions are met and the conditions will be safe and hygienic; workers’ hours are not excessive and that regular employment is provided; there is no use of child labour; and that no discrimination or harsh or inhumane treatment will be practiced or allowed in their organisation.

When selecting suppliers, we consider and scrutinise the reputation and integrity of the companies before deciding whether we want to work with them. Audits are carried out as part of the due diligence process before engaging companies. We regularly visit our production and supplier sites and exercise our right to carry out inspections and audits where appropriate.

We expect all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners to uphold the same high standards as we do, by ensuring that all employees and workers are treated with dignity and respect in a fair and ethical environment.

Managing risk

We work to identify, assess, and monitor any potential areas of risk in relation to our business and supply chains. This includes considering the type of services being carried out, the nature of what is being supplied and the location from where it is being supplied. We will continue to look to manage any risks identified and work with our suppliers and manufacturers to uphold ethical standards.

Looking ahead

We continue to monitor and develop our practices in respect of combatting slavery and human trafficking, particularly focusing on areas of the supply chain that may pose a higher risk of human trafficking or forced labour.

Because Marika Vera is committed to sourcing and designing only the highest quality garments, our processes will continue to evolve and improve and always verify that the supply chain operates in a legally compliant and ethical manner.
